Original Medicare

When it comes to Medicare, it all starts with "Original Medicare," also known as Medicare Parts A and B. In order to purchase a supplement or Medigap plan, you must first enroll in these two parts. Don't worry; we can assist you in signing up for original Medicare.

​Medicare Part A covers

  • Inpatient hospital care,

  • Skilled nursing facility care,

  • Hospice care,

  • Home health services.

Most people qualify for Medicare Part A without a premium.

Medicare Part B

Original Medicare Part B

Medicare Part B includes services from

  • Doctors and other healthcare providers

  • Outpatient care

  • Durable medical equipment (DME)

  • Preventive services.

Most people pay a standard monthly premium for Part B, but the amount can vary depending on income.

Medigap

Medigap

Medigap, also known as Medicare Supplement Insurance, is private health insurance designed to supplement Original Medicare
(Part A and Part B). It helps pay for some of the healthcare costs that Original Medicare does not cover.

Medicare Part C

Medicare Advantage

Medicare Advantage plans are often lower in premium but may require you to pay a copay or co-insureance for your healthcare.

  • Usually have Perscription Drugs included

  • Often have added benefits such as Dental, vision, hearing aids, OTC benefits and more.

Medicare Part D

Prescription Drug Plans

"Part D" is coverage for prescription drugs.

  • The premium varies from company to company.

  • Each company decides how each drug will be covered under each policy.

Signup Period

Medicares Annual Enrollment period each year is from October 15th through December 7th. With actual coverage beginning on January 1st.
