What is MNsure?

Is MNsure an Insurance Company? No, MNsure is Minnesota's health insurance marketplace where individuals and families can shop, compare and choose health insurance coverage that meets their needs.

MNsure is the only place you can apply for financial help to lower the cost of your monthly insurance premium and out-of-pocket costs. Most Minnesotans who enroll through MNsure qualify for financial help.

MNsure Enrollment Deadlines

Open Enrollment Period

Open enrollment is the annual opportunity to enroll in a private health insurance plan or renew or make changes to a current plan.

Open enrollment for 2024 ended January 15, 2024, but you may be able to enroll now if you qualify for one of the following:

Special enrollment period: If you experience a major life event, like having a baby, getting married or losing your job, you may qualify to enroll in private health insurance outside the annual open enrollment period.

Year-round enrollment: If you qualify for Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare, or are a member of a federally recognized American Indian tribe, you can enroll any time of year.

Things to bring in for your appointment.

If you have already created an account with MNsure, bring in your username and password information.
Proof of income, anything that would help determine what you believe your Projected household annual income will be. Including but not limited to, current tax returns, payroll stubs, W2's or anything showing your income for each household member.
Social security numbers for each member of the household. Including children and infants.
